INDUSTRIAL COMPUTERS ON SUN PLATFORM FROM RUSSIAN COMPANY ASE GROUP
Moscow, Russia (14 March, 2000) - ASE Group company completed design and tests of the PAMIR™ − reliable high performance systems on Sun Microsystems' CompactPCI SPARC/Solaris platform. The systems has passed successfully state tests on compliance with the requirements of the Ministry for Atomic Power of Russian Federation.
The computer complex (PAMIR-VK) and information representation workplace (PAMIR-RM) were developed for critical application ruggedized information systems. The solutions can be used for applications in energy, Telecommunication, transport, oil and gas industry, ecology monitoring and other areas.
Sun Microsystems' CompactPCI board SPARCengine CP1500 with 64-bit processor UltraSPARC IIi and 64-bit operating system Solaris 7 is used as a central processor board of the systems. The systems use Euromechanics 6U enclosure, RAID level 5 disk array and uninterruptible power supply units. The implementation of the systems enables reliable and safe operation under conditions of 8-mark earthquake on MSK-64 scale, +1 - +40 Celsius temperature, external power failures up to 20 minutes, external electromagnetic disturbances of medium stiffness, and also limits the electromagnetic emission of the systems themselves. PAMIR-VK and PAMIR-RM availability is 0.9998 and 0.9996 respectively. Average repairing time is not more than one hour, average service life is 10 years.
